STELLA MARIS SERIES: CONFIDENCE IN GOD (STORY OF BARRISTER LAWRENCE OFULUE)

FAITH & ABSOLUTE CONFIDENCE IN GOD

My dear people of God, as we go through this pandemic of the Coronavirus, which has caused a huge dent in our finances and loss of lives; absolute confidence and trust in God is what we need, it is the greatest gift you can give yourself. Without it, one could easily fall into despair which automatically means the loss of your soul.

For those who have lost family members and friends, it is so painful and at the moment, it feels inconsolable but, it will pass. They all do.

Taking a cue from our Mother Mary, knowing the magnanimity of the challenges she would face based on her culture and their mandated mode of life for unmarried women; our Mother Mary chose to over look all because, of her absolute confidence and faith in God, this is the story of the Magnificat, Luke Chapter 1 Verse 46-66.

Over the years there have been several examples of God's divine mercy but in current times, a good example is this brief story of one of our own. The very successful Life of the Blind Barrister Lawrence Ofulue who lost his sight at age 10 and of course faced the humiliation, pain, rejection from family and society at large due to his blindness but, just like our Mother Mary’s love and confidence in God, he put his absolute trust in God and was rewarded bountifully in God’s unlimited blessings of success in his life.

ACT OF LOVE, FAITH AND CHARITY
Barrister Lawrence Ofulue is a charitable man. His spirit of Charity stems from 2 areas;
Firstly, as a young man growing under Ezinne/Evangelizer Augustina Felicia I. Uwechue Omoregie’s care, who at the time was the Director, Ministry of Education in Benin-City, Edo State and Chairman Implementation Task Force on Education for the defunct Bendel State, he learnt the act of charity because, he was inspired and groomed to give love to several institutions and individuals based on his receipt of benevolence from a total stranger/ non family member who was and still is extremely benevolent to anyone she comes in contact with that needs help.

These actions, changed the course of his life positively.

Secondly, being a young boy of faith, he was popularly called the Pastor due to his prayer life. It showed his devotion and faith in God.

Today, Barrister Lawrence Ofulue is a leading example of a fulfilled man with an accomplished track record. He bagged his Masters in the1980s and he has a great job in an oil company. He is also blessed with a devoted and loving wife and beautiful children.

His life confirms the Love & Providence which our Mother Mary talked about as she praised God on behalf of all mankind and, all generations as stated above in (Luke chapter 1 Verse 46-66.)

In whatever situation you may find yourself, single, divorced, no fruit of the womb, out of a job, broke, ill and no money or, the loss of a loved one; do not lose faith by seeking for solutions in places not of God. Be steadfast in prayer, remain in obedience to God and you will smile at the end.

It is of utmost importance in this trying times, for us to understand that love is the key

The spirit of charity, should be let loose. This is also (1a) the spirit of the Christmas season in which our Mother Mary’s faith through her proclamation in the magnificat led to the fulfilment of God’s divine will in bringing our Lord Jesus to be the new Adam and she the new Eve.

(1b) Also through her exhibition of the act of selflessness in her visit to her cousin Elizabeth who she found out needed help from the Archangel Gabriel based on the stage of Elizabeth’s pregnancy & her absolute faith in God believing that God will see her through even with the fact that she could be killed, stoned to death or exiled.

So comforting those who have lost loved ones, giving financial assistance to all those around us who need help should be the primary focus of all of humanity as we go through this coronavirus pandemic. This is the true Spirit of love and faith in God.

(2) Second and most importantly, it is also the spirit of the Easter season because, the suffering, passion and death of our Lord Jesus Christ summarizes this.
The resultant effect being the blessings from God through the resurrection of his son our Lord Jesus Christ that we may be reconciled with the Father and, that anyone who calls on the precious blood of Jesus will be saved.

This is the best gift anyone can recieve. God is good all the time.

Wishing us all a very Happy Easter in advance as we pray to God to show us his mercy and deliver us from this and future pandemics.

Watch out for the words of the Magnificat in the continuing episode in the story of a dying Catholic woman.
